OnePlus stormed into the Indian market in 2015 with a flagship level specs at a midrange smartphones price which became a instant hit. Since 2017 OnePlus started launching 2 devices a year and this year OnePlus even came with a Pro device in addition to their regular lineup. Today OnePlus launched its most anticipated OnePlus 7T and lets deep dive into its specs.
The OnePlus 7T has a similar design that of the OnePlus 7 except the camera arrangement. The frosted glass back panel looks beautiful and it attracts less smudges and finger print. The phone has volume rockers to the left, alert slider and power button to the right. The top houses the secondary noise cancellation microphone and antenna lines. The bottom consist of speaker, type C port and SIM tray.
The major upgrade of OnePlus 7T is in its display. Now the display is 90hz fluid Amoled panel with a peak brightness of 1000 nits with HDR 10 support. The display is 6.55" with an aspect ratio of 20:9. The display houses a small notch which according to One Plus is 31% smaller compared to previous generation devices. The phone has indisplay finger print scanner and has support for facial recogonisation.
The next major update compared to one plus 7 is the presence of triple camera setup in the circular camera bump. The primary sensor is same 48 MP Sony IMX 586 snapper from One Plus 7 but with an F1.6 aperture which has support for OIS and EIS. The second lens is 12 MP F2.2 telephoto lens which can take 2X optical zoom and helps in portrait shots. The third camera is 16 MP ultrawide lens which has wide 117 degree field of view. OnePlus claims that this new camera setup will be much more stable for videos and vlogs. The front camera is Sony's tried and tested 16 MP F2.0 IMX 471 which is electronically stabilized which houses in that notch.
The new OnePlus 7T is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 855+ chipset which is slightly better than 855. The base variant now comes with 8 gigs of ram and 128 gigs of UFS 3.0 storage. We also have a higher 256 gb storage variant with the same amount of ram. The device has stereo speakers and has support for Dolby Atmos support.
The battery of OnePlus 7T is slightly increased to 3800 mAh and the biggest upgrade comes in form of 30W warp charger included in the box. This charger is about 18% faster than one included in the OnePlus 7 Pro according to OnePlus.
OnePlus 7T is the first phone is the world to come with Android 10 out of the box. It is backed by super fluid Oxygen OS 10. Oxygen OS 10 has few newer features such as work life balance mode which blackens the social apps during work and vice versa. It also has revamped messaging apps which groups messages depending upon its type. The gallery app also has a similar grouping feature like one found on the Google photos but this doesn't require internet connectivity.
Pricing and availability
OnePlus 7T is priced at Rs.37999 for 8+128 gb variant and Rs.39999 for 8+256 gb variant. OnePlus 7T comes in Glacier Blue and Frosted Silver colour options. The phone is going on sale starting 28th September on Amazon, Oneplus.in and One Plus store.
OnePlus 7T seems to be the true successor of 6T and OnePlus has just launched One Plus 7 to push customers to buy 7 Pro. If you are ok with full HD+ display a dew drop notch then 7T is a better pick when compared to 7 Pro. According to me OnePlus should have priced the device bit more aggressively because ROG phone 2 seems better value for money at the same price.
Note : One plus 7T recieved a recent limited time price cut and now the device starts from Rs.34,999
