Vivo V17 - Can Vivo's camera centric offering live upto it's expectations ?

Vivo is in immense love with Snapdragon 675 AIE processor and launched a new smartphone with that processor in the same segment. Vivo is marketing this device as a camera-centric smartphone and let's see in this blog whether the device can justify the brand's claim.


On the design front, it is made up of glass to the back with a tiny punch hole camera to the front. The device houses a quad-camera setup to the rear, the bottom houses the speaker, headphone jack, microphone, and a type C port. To the left, the device houses a sim tray with a dedicated micro SD card slot. The power and volume buttons are to the right and the top consists of secondary noise cancellation microphone.


The device consists of a 6.44" FHD+ AMOLED display with a tiny punch hole camera with a 20:9 aspect ratio. Since the display tech is AMOLED, Vivo incorporated an optical in-display fingerprint sensor. The device offers 100% DCI-P3 color gamut thus ensuring great viewing experience. The display also comes with a blue light filter mode which helps in reducing 42% of blue light emission and minimizing the eye strain.


Vivo V17 is powered by tried and tested Snapdragon 675 AIE processor clocked up to 2 GHz. Snapdragon 675 is capable but a year old chip, it can handle all day to day tasks perfects but the processor needs to push to its limits in gaming and CPU intensive tasks. On the gaming front, Adreno 612 handles the graphics which can run all AAA titles in medium settings. The device comes with 8 GB of ram and 128 GB of internal storage.


The device comes with a quad-camera setup to the rear with a primary sensor being 48 MP

f/1.8 sensor, the second camera is 8 MP Ultra-wide sensor with 120-degree field of view, 2 MP macro camera which can capture images as close as 4 cm and 2 MP bokeh camera. The device comes ultra steady mode to capture stable video footage. The front camera is 32 MP sensor capable of capturing stunning selfies. The device comes with pose guidance mode and advanced AR sticker to capture some fun-filled selfies.


Vivo V17 is fueled by 4500 mAh battery which can last for a full day for most of the users. The device comes with an 18W dual-engine fast charger to top up the smartphone at a much faster rate.


The device comes in a sole 8 GB ram and 128 GB variant and it is priced at Rs. 22,990. and is available in major online and offline stores. The device is available in Midnight Ocean and Glacier Ice colors.
