Xiaomi launches Redmi 9 Prime and Mi TV stick in India

Xiaomi is in a launching spree, and they are constantly adding new products in their portfolio. Just in a couple of days, Xiaomi launched Redmi 9 Prime and Mi TV stick in India. Redmi 9 Prime is the brand's affordable offering, and it starts just under Rs.10,000, and Mi TV stick is the toned-down version of Bi Box 4K, and it directly competes against Amazon Fire TV stick.

Redmi 9 Prime

Redmi 9 Prime comes with a 6.53" FHD+ LCD-display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartphone is entirely made up of plastic with a textured back panel for a better in-hand grip. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 processor, and it is clocked at up to 2.0GHz. The graphics performance is taken care of by Mali G52 GPU, and it is clocked at up to 950 MHz.

Redmi 9 Prime is equipped with a quad-camera setup, and the primary camera is 13 MP shooter. The second camera is an 8 MP ultra-wide lens with 118 degrees FOV. The final two cameras are 5 MP macro and 2 MP depth units. To the front, the dewdrop notch houses an 8 MP selfie camera. The smartphone draws its power from a 5020 mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging, but the box comes only with a standard 10W brick, and it charges via USB Type C port.

Redmi 9 Prime is available in 4GB+64GB and 4GB+128 GB configurations. The smartphone is available in Matte Black, Mint Green, Space Blue, and Sunrise Flare color options with a gradient finish to it. The smartphone is priced at Rs.9,999 and 11,999, respectively. Redmi 9 Prime is up for grab on the 6th of August as part of Amazon's Prime day launches.

Mi TV stick

Xiaomi also launched Mi TV stick, in India. Mi TV stick comes handy if you want to convert your non-smart older TVs to a smarter one. Mi TV stick is just a plug and play device which can be plugged into any television which has a standard HDMI port. Using the Mi TV stick, users can get access to more than 5000 apps, including Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hotstar, etc.

Mi TV Stick comes with support for Chromecast, Google Assistant, Dolby Audio, and Data saver. Mi TV stick is priced at Rs.2,799 and goes on sale starting August 6th on Flipkart. Xiaomi is also all set to launch Mi Beard trimmer on August 6th, the pricing and features of the trimmer are yet to be unveiled by the brand.
